Prose and Poetry from Workshop 3

Prose and Poetry from Workshop 3

Workshop 3 in Cork opened with readings by the writers William Wall, Kathy D’Arcy and Sarah Clancy. They were introduced by one of our judges, Katherine O’Donnell of the UCD School of Social Justice. You can listen to their moving, political, feminist work here. Give the audio player a minute to load after you press ‘play’- it’s a long recording.

The text  of William’s ‘Four Women who Died for Ireland’ is online here.

The text of Sarah’s ‘Women This State Hates Us’ is online here.

The picture is by the Spanish cartoonist El Roto. The caption, translated on the blog ‘Cunning Hired Knaves’ reads: ‘We shall be vigilant so that robberies conform to legislation’
